Beauty: My Favorite Makeup Products

I started wearing makeup in the 8th grade. Since then, I have grown a huge love for it. Putting on makeup is something I look forward to. I like to listen to music while I apply my makeup. I really enjoy the process and find it quite relaxing. Over the years I’ve come across some great products that have become staple pieces in my makeup bag.

Here are my favorite products:

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer: shade light

I love to use this under my eyes and on the top of my nose to brighten my skin.

Laura Mercier Translucent Powder

This powder is super light and gives off a matte finish.

The Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Bronzer is my favorite bronzer. The bronzer applies super smooth and light while giving off the perfect sun kissed look.

The Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eye Shadow Pallet is one of my favorite Eyeshadow Palettes. The colors are super pigmented, so a little bit of product goes a long way. My favorite eye shadow shades are berry shades and browns. This pallet has the perfect mix of both.

My favorite mascara is the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara. I get mine the the shade very black. I also prefer to wear waterproof. This mascara helps both lengthen and curl my eyelashes. I’ve tried tons of mascaras and this one has worked the best for me personally.

These are my go to products! However I also love to try new brands, and see what else is out there!

Beauty: My Skin Care Routine

Skin care is super important to me. My mom has always stressed to me the importance of taking care of your skin in order to remain looking youthful as long as possible. Over the past few years, I’ve experimented with many different products. I have finally come up with a routine that works best for me.

Here it is:

  1. The first step in my skin care routine is to wash my face and neck with Andalou Naturals’ 1000 Roses Cleansing Foam. The cleansing foam is made with alpine rose stem cells which helps reduce redness and clam the skin

2. The second step in my skin care routine is to use the Andalou Naturals’ Lemon Sugar Scrub on my face and neck. The scrub gently exfoliates surface cells to improve tone and texture. The lemon refreshes the skin to help achieve a bright, and balanced complexion. I only use this scrub once a week.

3. After I’ve cleansed my face, I dry my face gently by patting my face with a towel. Then I spray Andalou Naturals’ Brightening Clementine and Illuminating Toner all over my face and neck. This toner helps to refresh the skin and uplift circulation. It also improves the appearance in the tone and texture of the skin.

4. Next, I apply a vitamin c serum on both my face and neck. My serum is from the brand Mad Hippie. Vitamin C serums help to brighten and tighten the skin.

5. The next step in my routine is moisturizing. I use two different moisturizers- one for the day time and one for the night time.

For the day time, I use Andalou Naturals’ Canna Cell Happy Day Cream (pictured on left). This cream has organic hemp seed oil, rich in vitamins, proteins and omegas.

For the night time, I use Andalou Naturals’ Night Repair Cream (pictured on right). This cream helps soften skin and rejuvenate your complexion.

Amazon.com: Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen, SPF 55, 3 ...

Too much sun is extremely bad for the skin. To help prevent skin cancer, sun spots, and wrinkles, I apply sunscreen to my face and neck daily.

My Favorite Vacation

Last year, my family and I traveled to Nassau, Bahamas to celebrate my high school graduation. We stayed at the Baha Mar Resort for about 10 days. The resort is beyond beautiful.

This trip was truly amazing. My family and I spent our days relaxing on the beach, and by the pool. We also did lots of fun activities. We went paddle boarding, drove jet skis, snorkeled, and we went on a boat ride to the resort’s private island.

One of my favorite parts of this trip was the delicious food. The resort has tons of restaurants, all of which have amazing cuisine.

Besides the beautiful resort, and the amazing food, my favorite part of this trip was spending quality time with my family. The memories we made in the Bahamas are ones I will cherish forever!

My family and I had plans to return back to the Bahamas in May, 2020. However, due to the unfortunate circumstances going on with COVID-19 our trip has been postponed until June. We are all staying positive and hoping we will be able to go!

Here are some of my favorite pictures from the trip:

Trying New Things: Painting!

Since quarantine has started I have gotten myself into a daily routine. I begin each day with a cup of coffee, then I workout, eat some breakfast, and begin my school work. Having a daily routine is a great way to normalize the concept of being in quarantine. It has helped a lot!

Although my daily routine has kept my days very occupied. Just like many others right now, I sometimes find myself in a state of boredom. When boredom strikes, I like to try new things!

When in a state of boredom my sister and I decided to try painting! Luckily we had some blank canvases and art supplies already at our house! The first step to painting was to find inspiration for our artwork. Since I have an extreme love for fashion I decided to create a fashion piece.

This was my inspiration photo:

The painting process was something I really enjoyed. My sister and I set up an area in my basement and painted for hours while we listened to music.

This is my finished product!

For someone who has never painting before, I am very proud of my work! I plan on hanging this on the wall in my dorm room next year! I really enjoyed this experience. I am excited to paint more and become a better artist in the future!

My First New York Fashion Week

On Wednesday February 12th, 2020, I had the opportunity to work my first ever New York Fashion Week!

I traveled to the Metropolitan West venue in NYC. There I worked the ARTISTIX fashion show which debuted their Fall/Winter 2020 collection. ARTISTIX is a streetwear brand that strives to blend fashion, art, and music. The brand was founded by Greg Polisseni and is creative directed by Andy Hilfiger, Tommy Hilfiger’s brother. At the show, I worked behind the curtain as a dresser. I steamed all of the runway looks and then helped dress the models for the runway. The people I worked with were so kind and welcoming to me. I had such a fun evening. This was such an amazing experience and one I will never forget!
